Rue de Sandy Ground

Can anyone tell us what this area is like? Would it be a nice area to rent a condo? What would be close within walking distance? Any beach bars? We are familiar with the market area, is that close by too? and if so, maybe this area would be a little to close to town? We have been to the market once, but didn't drive around the area much. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

where the condo located rue de Sandy Ground???... Which side of the Bridge? in Sandy Ground itself or on Marigot side (Beach Plaza, etc...) Rue de Sandy Ground runs from Marigot's Cemetery to pass the entrance of "la belle Creole", so it is a pretty long street going through some very different area in matter of facilities, safety, etc.....

Yep, surely depends on WHERE on the road the condo is.

There are 2 condo buildings to the right of Beach Plaza towards the town close to Marigot.....one is Le Pirate and the other is the Yacht Club (me tinks)...there are a couple on the other side (left) of Beach Plaza...we stayed in Le Pirate for many years (ocean front) and totally loved the location....great walking area.....Kate

From the map they provide on VBBO, it looks like it is just left of the Hotel Beach Plaza, which would be between the bridge and the cemetery. I can't find a name for the building. To us, it looks like it would be a long walk to any beach bars etc., except for the town of Marigot, and I couldn't find any beach bars there. We think Dreams would be a long walk from there? Might have to keep looking.

Le Pirate to the right of beach plaza VRBO 464419....336444....205107

VRBO 848698a....424603
VRBO 866676a to the left ground floor....never stay on a ground floor in this area.
We always enjoyed this area had a beautiful remodeled suite at the Pirate....was fun watching the boats come and go....the market is about a 15 min walk...the beach there is not great...sometimes we rented a car...or walked....took the bus or taxi...most of the people who own these condos are from France...staying in the area really gives one a sense of really being on holiday in a different country...my husband was fluent in French and i could understand and speak some.
Others on this board would "never" stay in this area but we always enjoyed it.Kate
