Hope everything is OK. They are only about 6 miles from the epicenter. Looks like power is out all around Sanoma.

Yeesh..that was a BIG one..seemed more violent than the big LA Northridge quake. We are all fine..lots of broken glass, pictures off the wall etc....power just came back on so we were cleaning up broken glass at 3.30 this morning to stop the terrified cats from hurting themselves. We have buckled roads around the neighbourhood and about 70 injuries..two cousins ..a nurse and volunteer fireman were thrown into action so their daughter is here sleeping on the couch. All told we are fine but that was one hell of a shake and I've been through em before, as said the big LA quake..this seemed more violent..

Funny sidenote..for our wedding Robin Leach gave us Romeo and Juliet goblets..Juliet got wiped out in the LA Northridge quake and Romeo just became a victim of this one!

wow glad to hear all are safe and no deaths...now the wine on the other hand! I heard some of the wineries lost some high end barrels and irreplaceable vintage bottles.

If there is an upside to this...many bottles didnt break but labels came off or got stained...so some premium wines will be going at "shockingly" low prices!Have not heard from Gary CalSail who has a winery north of the epicenter..Gary???

he posted this on FB earlier

The day after the quake finds us here at Phifer Pavitt Winery one of the truly lucky ones. So many of our friends lost entire wine collections as well as inventory. I made the trip down to Napa yesterday to deliver picking bins for champagne grapes and found the entire downtown area off limits. Our wine storage center in Napa holds 70,000 cases of our wine and others and only lost 100 cases and none were ours.We are all very lucky.
