What would you do if you won the powerball??
      #1679211 - 01/13/16 09:17 AM (71.101.35.226)

I'd pay off our bills and our house, buy a car, make a couple charitable donations, and the rest I'd WASTE on stuff like this!

Have you bought your tickets yet??

That's easy: Bigger boat (though not THAT big!) , extra house somewhere, NetJets membership (no, I don't think I'd want my own plane), and a whooollle lotta dog rescue, spay & neuter.

The Lotto pays you the full 1.4 billion if you take on a 30 year payment plan.
They will pay you according to what I read about 860 million if you want it in cash then you have to deduct your state tax and the IRS will deduct from 25 to 28% as a gambling tax which could bring it to about a mere 380 million.

With a "mere" $380 million I would set up trust funds for family and really good friends..get work done on Da Ting..my 1956 Porsche and CRC..I would buy five favorite Porsches..a 550 Spyder..a 904 GTS..an Abarth 356..a 914/6 GT..and one of the Paris/Dakar Rally 911s/959s. They would live in the restored barn on Robin's property in Sonoma after that mortgage was paid off. I'd be tempted to buy a Gunboat cat with a crew to show me how to get to fly a hull..and I'd sit back here at CRC and be loving life between trips back to Sonoma to exercise the cars and sample fine wine and cuisine..some trips to Europe and other world spots would be thrown in...first class of course!
I'd also plan to keep pocketfuls of $100 bills to tip some of the great folks we all meet along the way who could really use a handout without ever asking for it..

You could purchase twice the amount just on the interest alone.

First thing would be a Villa on St. John & a big catamaran in charter with CYOA.

Would likely quit work (even though I own part of the business) and would travel more.

I'd also do more benefit/conservation work.

Might upgrade the house to one in a location where I can go bow hunting out the back door.

My needs are not extravagant, and I don't see me joining the caviar lifestyle just because I have the money.

I'd buy the ladies clothing boutique here that Belinda always manages to wander into while I sit at the restaurant nextdoor drinking wine waiting for her.

I would buy the top of Windy Hill above Bananakeet and build out on the ocean side.

Scotty, the Cape Air pilot, has that lot and will start building her dream cottage up there soon. BTW " Calypso House" where she has been living as our neighbour, after "Island" Jim Kelly moved, is up for sale..and boy would we love to have you there! I'd even repay the favour and help you move!

I knew I liked that girl! We think alike. Saw that Jim's old digs were for sale and $600K is not a bad price. Unfortunately I didn't draw but 3 numbers and $7 just won't make it.

I hear there's a lot of interest in "Calypso House"..just hoping for new great neighbours...the house next door, owned by our favorite "lady", is back on the market after family members had to come and take her home, but is in rough condition..might be a teardown at this stage.." Casa Caribe" has sold..

That's an impressive video, but he's not the only guy who can climb a radio tower. I've been climbing tower for the better part of 40 years. And I seriously doubt that guy has ever been to the BVI, no less even heard of it or knows where it is. So I will gladly climb and be your rigger, anchor light changer, or do whatever kind of 'high work' that you need done. All for the low low price of a case of Sebastian's rum.

Rethinking my post..I'd buy that Gunboat..hire Mike Beswick to show me how to sail it as long as he brings, Jean and then I'd get all my buddies fom Garvey to the Currans to the Perfessor Walker, Nancy and all of them to sail around at record speed!!

Given that the Gunboat company is about to sell to the highest bidder with outstanding debt of $10,000,000, you might want to consider buying the company instead of ordering a boat.
