The pictures below are beautiful. What beach was that taken at?

They were from Barefoot Beach.

Here's some pictures from our latest trip. Visibility was poor due to heavy rains and wash off, but saw some BIG fish:
Barracuda at Eden Rock
Nurse Shark at Rum Point
Giant Cubera Snapper at Rum Point

Love the video honeymoon2. Did have some tiny clips of the shark. Of course it was my first time trying the video option out so the left a lot to be deserved. Bonnie been peppering us with emails to get back to White Bay and your other video reminds me why we love it so much.

Testudo,

First time for me trying the video mode, too, but it will not be the last with that Canon S90.

We've done day trips to JVD and stayed during the off-season, but this was our first time staying on JVD during "high season." We had a fantastic time, and can't say enough good things abou White Bay Villas.

Take care, honeymoon2 http://www.youtube.com/user/honeymoon2

Is there a good month to go to GC?

January - March is High Season and many like the weather due to the lower humidity and breezes. It also costs the most. May - June is a great shoulder season. Great weather before the rainy/hurricane season kicks in. Summer months are when the island is the least crowded, but you run the risk of getting hit by a tropical system which could mean a few days of rain or worse. Fall into early Winter is another good shoulder season. Winds start to kick up in December on the North and East sides of the island and can be quite strong for days on end until March. The Seven Mile Beach area will not usually see the same degree of windiness.

You can compare condos on this web site: www.caymanvacations.com
We're stayed at Villas of the Galleon and Silver Sands. We like Silver Sands better as it has a fresh water pool and is in a quieter area that is convenient to Cemetery Reef.

I think Discovery Point Club looks interesting. It's next to Silver Sands.

Hey Karen,

Thank you so much for responding. Strangely enough, I e-mailed Discovery Point Club earlier today to see what kind of rates they would give me for the summer months. I agree, it looks fairly decent.

Jim

We've stayed "next door" at Silver Sands on two occasions. I liked the appearance of DPC and would book it if we go back to GC.

It's a very quiet area at the end of SMB. You will have the beach to yourselves. It is also adjacent to Cemetery Reef which is fairly nice for snorkeling. The reefs are about 200-300 yds. off the beach.

When the cruise ships aren't in port, we like to snorkel in town at the Eden Rock Dive Shop. While it's iron shore, the dive shop has a ladder for easy entry into the water.

That is very helpful information, thank you for taking the time and sharing.
