CYPRESS COVE KISSIMMEE TRIP REPORT
      #1467198 - 01/05/13 09:18 PM (107.9.16.124)

First Visit to Cypress Cove. Our only other experience is Club O.

Rooms
* Stayed in the Villa's for a week with our pet
* Rooms very clean and serviced each day
* Cable TV
* Check in easy
* Given a 2pm late check out for our 430pm flight
* parking right outside villa
* Coin laundry nearby

* Hung out at main pool area near Cheeks Bar/Cafe
* Great atmosphere - folks of all ages -similar to Club O
* Food very good for day lunches
* Heated pool - very clean and nice
* Surrounding this pool are a great workout center, hair salon, boutique.
* Mens/womens bathrooms immaculate
* Wonderful outdoor showers with soap dispensers
* Vast majority of folks soap showered before pool/hottub

Lakeside restaurant
* Ate breakfast and dinners here
* Very good food, great service, and reasonable prices

Grounds
* very nice to walk around, bike, play tennis, golf, canoe, paddleboat, shuffleboard, ping pong, pool.

General Store
* Beer, suntan lotion, etc. Prices a bit high. Walmart is less than a mile a way. But convenient in a pinch.

People
Very nice and friendly

Behavior
* Very good all week
* There is a local resident monitor at the pool, hottub, or in the bar to ensure no overt behavior goes on to keep the place kid friendly - saw a couple very, very minor infractions that did not go unnoticed by the monitor. Good thing if you are bringing kids to AANR establishment wich several did.

Entrance

Could not tell you were turning into a nude resort from the main drag.

24 hour guard at the gate - friendly and professional.

Nearby

Publix, Walmart, Dennys, McD's, BK< Subway, and much more.

Good 2nd place alternative to Club O if you can't get there or can't afford a trip this time.

They have RV and Camping too. Looked very nice.

Excellent summary thanks!

We're staying for the winter in the RV park and love it! Might add that there are lots of organized activities, e.g. exercise classes, cards etc, as well as dances and games like "Mega Trivia" at the Lakeside Restaurant. Last night was a blast, an excellent Roy Orbison imitator, really good singing and lots of dancing. Most folks are clothed or semiclothed for those functions, but they also have 2 or 3 "Streaks at Cheeks" (pool-bar) with a DJ where less clothing is involved.

True, weshould of exericised and gone on the group power walks.

We saw "Ray" singing the night before....very good.
We didn't hit the "streak at cheeks" by chance but that is a great idea because sometimes folks were clothed at night in the bar. Probably cuz it was 60 or less outside. But it was warm in there, so it would be better for most times to be "streak" time --- in my view.

Can't take em to pool or in public rooms unless a service dog. But we did walk em around the park and of course to the dog potty areas and we took him to do our extensive laundry.

Thanks for posting your trip report. Glad you enjoyed your stay. My wife and I are booked there for a week in May. We've also visited Club O but are trying Cypress Cove this year to save a little $$.

Forgot to mention that the Cove has no restrictions about bringing refreshments to the pools. Many other resorts will not allow this.

Great point. The bar (Cheeks) by the pool is great and deserve your patronage but I drank alot of Walmart Corona (in cans) and diet coke. Helps you save money for the plane, car, and food.

I note the website says that pets have to be caged when we're not in the room and we don't cage ours. Do you know if they enforce that, as otherwise, I guess that's a no-go for us to take our 'kids'.

Supposed to. Especially if housekeeping is wanted. Our little guy would have flew the coop soon as they opened door. We left the do not disturb on and exchanged towels several days. Took him for a walk or ride and asked for housekeeping was easily accomodated by them.
He stayed in crate most of the time when we were gone. Not when we were in the room.

You sign a paper you are responsible for damage.

It was $10/day for the pet.

It was fun to have em around and he didn't mind the crate. Small $40 at Publix nearby.

OK. Ours have never been crated, except at the dog groomer or the vet. Two of them, around 25 pounds each. I might look into buying one LARGE crate and put both of them in it..

FWIW: I don't know if this would work to satisfy management or not (you could call and ask) but how about a small play yard (bottomless with collapsable sides/panels). My sister uses them for her greyhounds. That way the doggies can move around but are confined to one small area in the room. If they aren't used to being left in a crate, this might help them not feel as stressed when you leave the room.

That's an option, I suppose. We've never been there at all, so maybe we'll go check it out sometime and then see about bringing the 'kids'..

this was a 10# yorkie but we also have a 110# big lab and they are best buds in their large crate at home. The floors were tile.

Are biggest prob was the little guy didn't have the yorkie and he had about 10 minutes of yappin everytime we left.
