As a parent, I would agree, there are no words except perhaps that we are sorry - we really can not imagine your pain for it is unimaginable both in terms of depth and scope. Again, we are very sorry.

This is an accurate observation. It is unimaginable. In our case I think the only thing that would have been worse would be to die from an accident - I honestly don't understand how parents can deal with their child being killed by a drunk driver.

Barbara - sorry I can't give you a big hug, but I'm sending my hug wishes to you. I sort of wish I could look at this thread with dry eyes, but that is impossible.

Thanks for posting this, Sharon. So much respect for Barbara on this board, always, and to know how much loss her family is feeling right now, I am sure it is overwhelming. My thoughts and prayers go out to Barbara and Dee today. Charlie, I didn't know you had lost a son almost a year ago, a hug for you, too. Hope you live close to the grandkids.

Patty

Thanks Patty - we're 4 hours away from them and will see them this Sunday. They'll be in grades 5 & 7 this year.

I am fully aware that this thread is about Barbara's family tough situation, but I relate to it so strongly that I just wanted to say some stuff. I could write a book about the simply unreal stuff we experienced and dealt with, a good bit that could not happen unless you accept life after death.

By the way, my other 2 granddaughters live in Chester County, PA.

I can understand 100% that it might take Barbara a while to get back here online, but honestly I got a good feeling from some online stuff right after my son died from people I had no relationship to.

May she rest in peace!

Erika was such a great person, a rare great person that made the world a better place. I hurt for all the Cannegieter family and those close to Erika.

My heart has been aching for Barbara and Dee since I heard the news earlier. I can't imagine the pain they're enduring. I can only wish for Erika to be at peace and for the good Lord to comfort her parents and family. It's got to be an unimaginable pain......very sad.
