6 teams from the ACC is kind of unreal.

It doesn't even feel like the ACC any more, with all the expansion.

Agreed, but UNC and UVA are both #1 seeds. Looks like another wild shootout this year.

Being a life long Maryland fan, I turned my back on them when they left the ACC. My son-in-law is a NC State Grad and they wear red so I started following them. My wife is a UVA grad, and still proudly wears the shirt she got in 1980.

My two favorite teams are UVA and anybody playing Carolina!. (Albeit it was with a big bite of humble pie this year with the outcome "THE" tournament.)

One thing for sure... Anything with sky blue and Devil Blue are prohibited in our home!

Yep back in the day the ACC tournament was insane. Both of our children were born in Elizabeth City. We had a little 78 Honda Civic with a UVA sticker. Every tournament my wife's coworkers would physically pick up the car and move it to some other spot in the hospital parking lot.

I agree though... the ACC is different and not the same, but I thank the almighty that the tournament is somewhere else besides Greensboro.

Saw on the news today that 6 teams from one conference sets an all time Sweet 16 record. Factor in that Louisville could not compete in post season this year, there could have been 7 teams. However, the competition so far has been incredible.

Just the opposite here, although I don't expect Duke to do much more.

I'm an Oregon fan, simply because I have friends who live there, and I think the Ducks are going to have a tough time with Duke. Duke's big men will be hard for them to contain. That won't stop me from cheering for Oregon, though!

Now I have a real dilemma. I am nearly as strong a supporter of Anyone But Syracuse as I am of Anyone But Duke, but I think Carolina has a better chance of beating Syracuse than Virginia. Assuming, of course, that we get past Notre Dame.

4 ACC teams in the Great 8, 2 in the Final 4 and one in the championship game - Wow, this is history in the making.

I'm a UNC grad, so of course that is my favorite team.

I have 32 years of attending UNC games, but also have gone to Arizona, Kentucky and Kansas as well as Duke, NC State and Wake Forest when they were all good. The atmosphere at Kansas was the most "over-the-top" that I've ever experienced.

However, Nova is definitely for real - should be a really good game.

UVA will be my 2nd favorite team in the Elite 8. Just saw a note on ESPN that Notre Dame does not lose on Good Friday or Easter, so tonight's game for UNC has another twist.

Kind of unreal that UNC is the only #1 seed that made it to the Final 4. I've been to 3 of them and they were fun.

The winning margin doesn't really tell the story of the game.

I learned something unreal today. A guy I've known for years told me today that his first Final 4 was in 1977. He has been to the Final 4 every year since then, so this weekend will make 40 straight years that he has been to the Final 4. No idea what the record is, but sooner or later looks like he could be the record holder.

Carolina always gives me a heart attack in the first half, as they seem to start slow. With Syracuse being known for comebacks, I wasn't really confident until there were only a couple of minutes left in the game.

Two all time records were set yesterday. Nova's win was the single biggest point spread in the Final 4. Both games together provided the largest margin of victory for the 2 semifinal games.

Guess I'll be watching the TV Monday night and hope that Nova isn't on fire like there were last night.

charlieh: I went to two West Regionals at BYU back in the 70's when they played for places one through four. After each game, except the last one, the loosing teams fans where outside selling the remainder of their tickets because you had to by a complete subscription. So the smart local fans would wait by the exits and wait for the losers who would be glad to sell their remaining tickets because they couldn't care less about the rest of the outcomes. Now they had cheap seats for the rest of the Regional. (Correction: they played for the first four places),
One more thing. I was there when Idaho State a low seed beat top ranked UNLV. The game wasn't memorable but the outfits worn by their fans were. Male Idaho State rooters looked like the Marlboro Man and the women had on sheep skin outfits with high-heal boot. On the UNLV the men did their best to look like Elvis and the women like Show Girls. Quite a site to behold.

Very surprising first half, but I'll take the 5 point lead. The announcers are as surprised as I am about the way the game is going.

Congrats to Nova. They deserved the win.

Both teems played well. To bad the refs didn't. Lots of non calls that made a big difference but that's the way it goes sometimes.

One of the very few times that I agree with you Scuba. But as Charlie said, Villanova did play well, and we didn't play as well as well as we should have. However, if only one of the several bad calls had been made correctly, it wouldn't have come down to those last shots.

Villanova won the game on their own merit - the referees bad or missed calls went both ways, as they usually do. It was a great game by two well-coached teams, and a shame someone had to lose. Please don't blame the refs if your team loses.

I didn't have a team. Mine was gone long ago. I just witnessed the blatant missed calls that even the announcers acknowledged. Most all favored Villanova and the announcers stated that also. Even went so far as to ask for a replay to prove their point. Refs just wanted an underdog to win.

I thought the officiating was the worst ever in a championship game and I thought that Nova, at least to some degree, got the best of it. But, the way the game was played overall and more importantly the way the game ended, with Paige's absolutely unbelievable shot and then Jenkins' - makes it impossible for me to question Nova's right to the win. It was meant to be.

I can think of one call near the end when Villanova was charged with a blocking foul, but it was clearly a charge on NC, resulting in 2 made foul shots. If Villanova had lost, I wouldn't have blamed it on the call. Perhaps, Nova was led by seniors, who better understood teamwork?
