It is great exercise!! There is almost nobody on this stretch of land. The last time I went, I saw three people in 1 and 1/2 hours. It's not indecent exposure if you don't get caught. The only two times that I've been seen naked was when a woman that was with her child (about 2 years old) passed and told me that it was wrong for me to be naked and she was going to report me. My question was report me to who? Park rangers are nowhere to be found. The second time, there were a group of about 5 males coming up ahead and I got scared because I was alone, so i quickly jumped into the water. javascript:void(0) As far as nudity on the ferry, I have never been on the Patchogue ferry but I have gone on the Bay Shore Ferry about ten times, each time I was barefoot and wearing a bikini. I'm sure you can shed your clothes when you get to a safe distance from everyone else. Have fun Danny, you'll be fine.

It's clearly illegal. But, as I've said many times, what's accepted is usually more important. Unfortunately, you fail that test as well.
It's entirely one thing being nude in a deserted area if your experience in doing so is that anybody who happens to be around doesn't care (this is a common situation in hiking in many places in the west). But you've said that's not the case here and that you angered somebody with a young child who said they were going to "report" you.
You're right: it's likely that by the time the report was made, you'd be long gone. But your action is threatening the existance of the nearby clothing-optional beach! If the acceptance of nudity at one location is causing significant problems with nudity at unacceptable locations, you may find that nudity stops being acceptable at the first location.
Not being nude outside of the established nude area is one of the major parts of nude beach etiquette. If you want to be nude in deserted areas, please pick areas that aren't adjacent to (or even near) established clothing-optional areas as a favor to those who want to keep using those areas.

You bring up a good point. However, it's not like I'm having sex in front of a crowd of young children. I'm simply going for a refreshing run in the buff. I don't see a problem with it. It's not like I'm stripping on the ferry and strutting my stuff in town. Whenever there is a crowd of people I carry around my bikini. However, as soon as I see nobody in sight, I get naked. That's all. I'm not harming anybody. The amount of people who have actually seen me naked is under 10 people...and that's on 3 occasions. 3! I don't see a problem with recreational nudity.

Anything East of the Fire Island Wilderness Center is Smith Point County Park and you will be arrested. 
You will see a pipe with 2 green rings on it Do not pass that point.
You will also have to cross Bellport Beach were you will also be arrested. 
Otis Pike Wilderness is Federal Property
Old Inlet is a family beach

We're having enough trouble keeping clothing-optional beaches nude. I fail to see the point to creating yet more pressure to close them by trying to get a group of people to be nude in inappropriate areas. Note also that men doing so are (whether we like it or not) considered more threatening than women.
As was said on the Travasuns mailing list recently (about a different thing), "we're trying to show the NPS we can be responsible citizens, not trying to find more creative ways to generate complaints".

Once again I make the point that I will carry around my bikini. If I get caught, I will put it on and say I'm sorry and move on. If not, I will run naked the whole way. It's not a big deal people.

Ah, my dear.... it is a big deal. You're supposed to be descreet. We enjoy this area, and we don't want to antagonize the locals. Put your darn bathing suit on when jogging on the beach. 
And if you don't, and get arrested for it, don't be shocked!
