Snorkel Sites - Any Recent 'Wow' Recommendations?
      #1530595 - 08/24/13 04:20 PM (174.108.115.251)

Will be chartering a Voyage cat the last week of October. Several previous visits to the BVI's and have snorkeled the usual locations. Hoping to get some guidance on which sites have recently been newsworthy for anything particularly interesting or spectacular.

Hoping to give our crew newbies something really special to snorkel. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

If you rent a car on Virgin Gorda, make a stop at Savannah Bay. It's like a giant aquarium and an easy walk-in from the beach. On a busy day, there may be 4 other people on the entire beach.

I think the Indians are still tops in the BVI, I know they are the best place we've seen while there. I wonder if there is anything better? There have been other places to see turtles or specific fish like tarpon, but all around, the Indians are tough to beat.

no matter how many times you snorkel the Indians, it is always a treat. A little hidden gem most people overlook is Pelican and inside angelfish reef.

Wait, now that I think of it, the split between Scrub and Great Camanoe is really quite good. All along the side of Great Camanoe.

Are you referring to Diamond Reef or something else? Anyone snorkel Shark Point off Scrub?

The caves at Monkey point, Great Dog, Cistern Point, the Indians, the reef off Loblolly, Anguila Cut - all great sites.

Agree with Evan, Pelican was a surprise for us. Grabbed a ball by Pelican to open up one at the Indians for others and found a real gem. Go south around the island from the mooring balls. Very nice. The narrow passage through the rocks is pretty neat too on a calm day.

Are there any mooring balls at Angelfish reef? We will stop at the Indians for sure, but if we had time to stop at either Angelfish or Pelican but not both, which would you choose? Thanks!
