For my TTOL friends who are not also my Facebook friends:

I created a blog to write about our recent trip to China, but was unable to access it while in China as their government blocks many social media sites. I have only posted one entry since we got home yesterday, but if you're interested, here's the link

I read your first entry, looking forward to reading more. Those restless nights at an airport are for the birds, but at least you got out at 6 a.m. But that's a whole lot of up time from the time you left Shanghai, hope you get some kind of compensation from your trip insurance for that.

I'm not sure, as I thought the insurance would only reimburse us for actual expenses. I'll have to see if I can get something for "pain and suffering"

I also plan to write a letter to United. For us to have been given a room at a budget motel, after having flown business class roundtrip to China, is ridiculous, especially since that room never materialized.

Wow! What a bad way to end a vacation. I guess it's better to happen at the end rather than the beginning. Looking forward to reading your trip report. Anon Ellie

I can only imagine how travel insurance varies, but I know the one I had most recently paid out if your flight was delayed and you missed your original connecting flight.

Georgia, thanks so much for taking us along on your latest adventure. I've been enjoying your blog and your description of the breakfast buffet has me missing char sui/hom bow (the steamed dumplings) that I lived on as a college student in Hawaii! Hope to see you and David in December. LeAnn

Hom Bow, memories. I have not had Hom Bow yet that was better than at the Portland Saturday Market 20 or so years ago.

Can not remember his name, age. He was an ex fighter pilot and I really liked all his food but the Hom Bow (sp?) was fantastic.

Cheers,
T
