If you're looking for something on the coast, the Gulf side has beautiful water, the Atlantic side, not so much. The Panhandle can have some COLD weather. They have had some SNOW (not measurable, but snow nonetheless) the past couple of years. However, anywhere on the coast, insurance is extremely difficult to get and expensive. In the interior of the state, prices are cheap for houses, still, as we still haven't really recovered from the real estate crash. IF you don't have to work at all, property in the interior of Florida is a bargain and it doesn't matter that work is hard to find around here.
