I just had an AMAZING 8 day cruise on her. She is a beautiful, fun boat to be on. We sailed from 6/21-6/28. Had great wx. A little warm and humid but the generator and AC on board kicked butt. The wives were complaing how cold it was. inside! We had a total of 11 crew. Two families with 2 friends. average age for the kids was around 23. They had a blast.
I would say, that after briefing them how to shower on a boat and conserve water, we could go 2 to 3 days before filling up. I monitored the tanks on the first nights usage on the dock with our sleep aboard. I told every one to take showers onboard. We managed 7-8 showers on tank 1 in addition to usung the galley sink. Showers on board were great also. Electric flushing toilets(they briefed no paper in the toilet) and no issues. Only bummer was the ice maker never worked. Once we found room in the freezer, we stored our ice there and worked great.
We only filled up on water in Leverick Bay. But I would fill up at the docks, have everone shower and fill up again the next day before we left. No one showered on shore because they like the showers on board so much. 12 gal hot water tank will only get 4 hot showers before you had to wait 1/2 hr.

6-21: Sleep aboard(dinner on board. You have time to walk to Rite Way to provision for dinner BUT, a little sketchy. Take some crew with you if you go at dusk/night. Remember to look to the right when crossing street!
6-22: Indians-Norman
6-23: Hike on Norman-Swam the caves-Deadmans Bay-Rhone-Trellis Bay(dinner at Pusser's with free ferry ride)
6-24: Early jump to the Bath's-Leverick Bay with a slip(Jumbies Barbecue)
6-25: Guana Island(White Bay)-Little Jost(Bubbly Pool with no bubbles, need Northern swell)-Great Harbor and Foxy's(lots of fun)
6-26: Early jump to White Bay(Soggy Dollar)-stayed most of the day anchored out front and had a blast!(gets crazy crowded on Sundays)- Cane Garden Bay(great sunset)
6-27: Sandy Spit for Crew Pix- Sopers Hole for lunch- back to Roadtown.

Great Trip! Great Boat! Great Crew! Life long memories...

"French Kiss"- Wonderful seating layout topside. Everyone found thier favorite place while underway. As The Capt/Helmsman, Sportop 450S did have its benefits of being able to monitor and communicate with crew in all areas of the boat. I could even peek down into the cockpit to see what was going on in the stern as well as up on the bow. Sound system was great, but would be better with additional speakers up in the bow area.

PS: Never really had to worry about getting a Mooring ball anywhere we went. This time of year was more relaxed, not as much traffic on the water as well.

Have Fun!

Matt

Hi. Thanks for the post!

Since this is a trip report, I made it into it's own thread.

Thanks Rita,

It was our first time with BVIYC and were very happy. Staff is great there.
On a side note, I was a little worried keeping track of 11 crew while down there. I came up with the idea to have everyone sound off with a number and that would be their assigned number for the week. It worked out great! cab rides, under sail, walking in the Baths, etc. They had fun yelling out their numbers..
