Anyone else get an email notice of a new supplemental maintenance fee being charged by Sapphire Beach Club. It makes reference to a July newsletter which supposedly explained the need for the new fee but I never saw or received any such newsletter.

I received a letter in the mail yesterday. Couldnt make heads or tails out of it...5 pages long. Will need to take a closer look at it and see whats up. I did not see an exact figure of a supplemental maintenance fee being charged. Maybe they are trying to figure it out. I noticed there were several choices. (figures)

Yes, we received the five page letter in the mail on Friday. They have it assessment broken down to four payments starting in August or the option to make one payment and received RCI membership. What guarantee is there that the work will be done with this money and not go missing. Exactly what has been done with the money we have all been paying--a mystery.

Possibly Verdier thinks the courts may rule for the Sitbon family. This may be their last attempt to line their coffers. Why should this time be any different than in the past with respect to what happens to your money once they get their hands on it.

Call me a Pollyanna, but I did read on this board that one wing was already done. But to continue on, that is the need for this supplemental fee. With Jan in place as the manager, I think things have looked up for the Sapphire.

I received the five page letter from Bob Stiffelman the supposed “President of the Association”. The letter arrived on August 1 and mentioned payments supposedly due in July. Typical of Sapphire to have due dates that occur before you get the bill. The letter raised many questions so I used the email address provided for Mr. Stiffelman to contact him with my questions. He never replied. Good work, Mr President.

On August 10 I sent a copy of my email to Bob Stiffelman to Sapphire’s billing office. As of today August 29 no one from Sapphire has responded. I also called three times today and the phone just rings with no answer.

They continue to be very difficult to do business with.

I usually just stop in when I am in SXM and pay my bill. For whatever reason, I don't get the maintenance fee bill very often, so I got in the habit of stopping in. For this special assessment, I thought they gave you the choice of paying once, or putting it into 4 installments. I also thought the letter we received from Bob Stiffelman was very strong in the wording of selling people's units if the fees are not up to date. I agree, they are slow or unwilling to respond to phone calls and emails.
