What is the % cost difference between picking up at the store vs having provisions. For example..

Bud in cans RW is $38. Moorings $34. How much would be at RW?

I obviously don't want the hassle of carrying all those cases of beer but maybe light stuff light meats, bread & veg can pick out. How much should I expect to save?

For Bud cans, Tico's is much cheaper. We had beer and liquor delivered from them and the food from RW. Brought or own meat in a polar bear cooler. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Thumbsup.gif" alt="" />

Yes. Tico is cheaper but my prob is they only deliver until 4:30. We don't get the boat until 6:00 pm. Also states on the website that moorings customer service supposedly doesn't accept deliveries.

Also can you tell how much cheaper at the actual store?

Just have them deliver in the morning.

I've only done this provisioning thing 30 times over the past decades. In the old days (1981-1990) it was into the Ample Hamper/Bobby's/RiteWay with crew and push baskets. Tried to coordinate each person's list and then transportation back to boat. Since about 1995 we send in our provisioning list a month early and drink beer on the boat while we wait for the delivery. THE ONLY WAY-- Note: IMHO a big waste of time and effort to bring any food. Plus whatever you forget is now available at a number of markets along the way. ENJOY

Must respectfully disagree with this statement as to meat only. After a couple of hit or miss attempts to provision meat locally, we bought a large Polar Bear cooler. We fill this full of solidly-frozen steaks, chicken and lunch meats. No ice is necessary to keep everything solid for at least 24 hours. Because at least one crew member always has free checked bag privileges, there is no transportation cost. Import duty is about $10. Knowing in advance what you will be grilling, and how it will taste, is priceless.

Tico will put your order in the office of the charter company. In our case the TMM office. Got it the next morning. Rightway put our cold goods in the fridge and the rest on the boat. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />

Totally agree regarding meat. Also benefits of vac-pack. We use 24 can Polar Bear cooler.

Please bring as much meat as you can so we BVI folks have some left in the store..
