The installation of a serious amount of barbed wire along with a part-time real police officer would be way too easy, GaKaye, and nobody in power will make much money on it. I may be cynical but there would be lots of room for money-making ops for some given many of the other suggestions made so far. Just sayin'......

Respectfully,

As Rahm Emanuel said
You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.

Doesnt anyone take personal responsibility for their own actions anymore? Do we have to rely on any government to protect us from ourselves? I am a retired Firefighter and on our ladder truck there are BIG stickers not to put your foot under the outrigger, I asked the manufacturer and they said the government made them put the stickers on. It truly tragic that someone has died but she didnt see the signs?

Much like the foolish woman who put a HOT cup of coffee between her legs and drove off from the drive thru. Now the government requires the establishments that sell hot beverages to put a warning on the cups. We could go on and on but you are right, people need to be responsible for their actions. It's truly a tragic event but the government should not have to protect people from themselves. My .02

Are you referring to Stella Liebeck? The car was parked when her coffee spilled. See here for details:
Liebeck v. McDonald's.

My wife and I live in St. Maarten during the winter and in the Boston area the rest of the year.

Obviously it will take a lot of planning and money to reroute that road. I wonder what the other business along that road think, some might feel that more traffic is good for biz. I did remember seeing a survey of Mary's Boon and that area that shows their boundary runs right down the middle of the road so any new road would need to be well on the other side of the current airport fence. Still I also think it will never happen and not needed. Time will tell.

Nothing will happen because SSBB or whatever it is called these days is a major profit center and anything that would affect "adventurous" tourists would be a drag on $$ for many people...you know what I mean???
