Tavaaro, those pics on Marlon's FB page are incredible. I assume they were taken as the eye passed. Another half to go! So sad.

I don't know if this will work. It is from Twitter and has some very frightening videos.

It's not about property at this point, I think it's about people's lives

I have been using TuneIn Radio for a long time. There are two versions. The free one has the radio stations with commercials (SXM stations presently offline). Pay version has live sports etc.

Available for Android (Play store) or laptop

One of those Facebook videos show severe damage to the buildings at SBR (C buildings shown minus roof)...this will be a very long come back

....and Irma's little brother Jose is following right behind her

Are you sure this is from St. Martin? There is already a comment indicating it may be from St. Barts.

Please, EVERYBODY, don't just slap up a link to something you see on social media until you are sure it is dealing with SXM. There are numerous posts and videos that are turning out NOT to be from SXM.

Does anyone know if this is correct? The back end is opposite direction and thing are bad enough as is. I hope the entire storm has passed.

If anyone has any pictures or information about Beacon Hill in SXM; I would greatly appreciate it if you post. I want to give thanks to Marlon whose photos and clips on Facebook show some of the damage on Island.

Storm has lost its symmetrical circular shape. Unfortunately, the thicker red part of the ring still has to cross SXM.

FYI: Laser 101 storm team said they will be trying to stream through Tropixx 105.5, which is also down at the moment. Just offering the knowledge up to anyone else trying to tune in to radio over the next few days. Obviously not expecting to be able to hear anything anytime soon.

The images and video all over the place are just gut-wrenching. I truly hope the casualty count is low or zero.

I feel like getting on a plane with a shovel, a rake and a wheelbarrow.

Oh, and with all the concerned TTOL'ers checking in, this forum has never been so slow!

Hearing there is major destruction. Of cource we have not spoken to anyone as yet... Having a house there, and looking forward to major issues is certainly stressful. everyone tells us, be happy were not there, but we will have to face the music at some point... If the roof is gone, the inside is destroyed. If the house collapsed, we can only walk away... Too old for this... Now that's pessimistic for sure, but reality is reality. Hope there were not deaths... Can only imagine the resorts near ocean... This is so so sad... stress is not the word... For those that have invested interest? Good luck...

At this moment we are thinking more about the people who right now are trying to survive this terrible tragedy. $$$ will be a secondary topic...

Downloaded the tunedin app, but it wants 9.99/month or 99.99/year for a free

The app she was mentioning is not "tunedin"... What you need to get is the app called "tunein radio pro" It is about $9.99 paid only once when you download it from the app store...and no monthly fees.

They do have "premium" in-app purchases available with monthly fees, but all you need is the basic "tunein radio Pro" app.

I run a low power fm station in Maryland (wmjs-lp) and we stream all our music around the world using "tunein radio pro"...

The medical school is being used as a shelter. All students who sheltered in the building are safe.

Since the thread is 10 years old, there is a good chance many of the links no longer work.

Having postponed a trip to SXM in June, we rescheduled and we're due to leave this Sunday. I am so sad for everyone there and just praying that everyone there is okay.

The Divi Timeshare Owners Facebook page has four photos of damage posted. One is of the Infinity Pool, which appears largely cosmetic. Another is of a walkway between buildings that appears to have a part of the roof on the ground. The others are of an overturned car in the parking lot. They were taken by a guest who opted to stay in his room instead of going to the main building, which was built to withstand hurricanes.

To all of my fellow Floridian St Martin/St Maarten lovers, may Irma not be the b---h to us she was to the island. She's already taken away our 39th anniversary celebration that was supposed to start today but I'll be darned I'm gunna let her get me at home. Im in Sarasota, which looks like going to be a direct hit. I have my shutters up, Force 12 hurricane screens, portable generator and couple of cases of bottled water. I will hope for the best to ALL of our Florida members.
