yes, thanks for the link to that site Erma! Eye opening indeed. The maps showing the path and the areas that are totally destroyed left little doubt for the amount of humanitarian aid needed.

Your very welcome. As a layman trying to follow this crisis I at first found the reliefweb portal to be almost a labyrinth - but I am certain that seasoned disaster specialists are well versed in all that the site offers (which if you haven't taken a look..it's well worth your time if you are vested in trying to get confirmed information about the islands which were trounced by H I).

I know we are directed towards so many sites these days in the aftermath so I will put a description of this site for those who wonder what this is all about: [color:"red"]

What is ReliefWeb?

- Informing humanitarians worldwide -

ReliefWeb is the leading humanitarian information source on global crises and disasters. It is a specialized digital service of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

We provide reliable and timely information, enabling humanitarian workers to make informed decisions and to plan effective response. We collect and deliver key information, including the latest reports, maps and infographics and videos from trusted sources. [/color]

Main reliefweb portal for Hurricane Irma

PDC (Pacific Disaster Center) is a main contributor of info. They have a Hurricane Irma Response here along with their Disaster Alert portal .

Map Action was the originator of many of the links (crit facilities, infrastructure, etc).

The last one that I wanted to draw specific attention to is the IFRC Hurricane Irma Portal (International Federation Red Cross) IFRC

It's now 2 weeks of this event for most of us who closely monitor the islands we hold dear...the one's that so many of our life memories revolve around. The road ahead is long but the world is acting on behalf of those impacted by H I. I know we will all support them for years and years to come.

~ when I posted on the SXM forum last night I gave proper credit for the originator of the link but forgot when I added to the BVI forum. Thank you George from sbhonline.com for the introduction to this extraordinary repository of critical information.
