Hi Jay, we are still here finishing allot of new planting’s, tons of work, and finally got the pool done. Many interior upgrades as well. When we go in the water we are careful to look at the bottom for any debris etc. there is very little if anything washing onto the beach from the ocean since it’s been 5 months now after the storm. And the wind on Orient came in from the ocean, so any debris was blown toward the houses, not out to sea. They had big equipment here that cleaned up all of the mess on the beach, so it’s really shaping up. There are only 2 beach bars however, since allot of people are waiting for their insurance payments before they rebuild. There are 2 restaurants in Orient village open and also La Plantarion has been open for about 4 months already. We had dinner a 2 of them and the food is very good as usual. La Villa is the upscale restaurant in Grand Case which we went to where the food is incredible as always. Many more places are open over the whole island as well. Will send you some pix. Thanks, dan.

wouldn't all that water that washed "in" from the ocean have to wash back out? I would imagine they is tons of junk in the waters

Yes, at least at Club Orient. The 16 foot waves came in & over/through the chalets at club orient & then came back out to ocean bringing stuff with it. The sand in close to the shore has covered a lot as the water keeps going in & out.
