We have always stayed at the Alamanda Resort on Orient Beach and have been watching to see if it will reopen. I had emailed them last summer, and they responded that they were planning on starting to take reservations in Nov. 2019. We were just on a cruise in October and visited the island. The resort grounds are free of debris, but it's still boarded up. We could see people must be living in the rooms because of laundry hung out on the balconies. Didn't look like any renovations are happening.

Then, today, when I went to check their website to see if any updates were posted, I saw that it is down. My French is poor, but I think they were saying it is undergoing maintenance. Anyone know what is really happening, there?

I just walked all through Alamanda friday morning to check the status. Few people living in scattered rooms. All lower floor rooms are boarded up and still heavy damage. No signs of any repair construction going on. Looked to me like they have a long way to go.
