Agreed, JD. NOW it looks intentional to me. According to what the owner told PMagisto, they don't intend to carry pizzas. Get it off the menu. Those burgers are very pricy to me..

A friend whose opinion I trust regarding food said the same thing about the food. We'll give it a try in November; Peruvian food is good, and I like the idea of something different. Odd though, to have pizza on the menu with no intention of serving it.

Seems reasonable enough. Going out to dinner, you see their menu, pricey, then you notice the pizza which is okay within your price range. You are seated and order. "oh, we do not serve pizza". Now you are hungry, tired, it's late so what do you do? Leave? No, you substitute for a more pricey dinner. I believe they have it all figured out. I would love to try some of their food but I will not go there, too many other restaurants to choose. Some say menu error but I seriously doubt it.

I agree with the reasoning overall, but as far as I know, they are not open for dinner. But most people who are seated and order a drink would not leave in this circumstance, but try to find something else to order, as you say.

A few years ago I got the 'KKO Burger' and it was really, really good. Not quite to 'die for', but close. But, no way was it priced at 19 euros. I think it used to be 15 euros so that's like a 27 percent price increase doing the quick math. Until more places emerge on Orient Beach that can compete for the lunchtime dollars this may be the deal for a while. Seeing these prices at Kakao I'm curious. Of the places now open on Orient Beach which one has the best value?

Needs to reprint the menu, plain and simple. If you are going to do pizza you need ovens that are hot, very hot, and big so you can do the volume. Nothing worse than waiting an hour for a pizza. Well maybe one thing, seeing it on the menu and it doesn’t exist.

We used to spend days at Kakao and easily spend over $200. However, I see nothing exciting about this menu. For the price of their ribeye steak I will just stop at Dinghy Dock on the way home and get one for $5! Add a load of sides for another $5.

Used to love their specials...cannot imagine what they would charge for a beef Welly. There was a good risotto at times as well. Burgers came with fries. Not happy about the current offerings or prices.

Somebody’s going to figure out the whole food truck thing and put some good ole capitalism on the beach.

For many years, Kakao was our favorite spot on Orient. Like you, Leona, we loved their specials, but several years ago, they got a new chef, and things haven't been the same since then. I still have hopes that this new chef and new direction will be an improvement.

Georgia, they actually went through 3 chefs in 2 years. Trust me, it was obvious. wink

There used to be a couple in Marigot that a lot of locals frequented. I went one night with a local friend and had a really decent meal out of one.

It would be a no brainer. You could have a commissary and replenish between stops. Probably some crazy regs to keep them out.
