Last time I was there, three years ago before the hurricane, it was very safe. My family was staying in a condo and would walk down to the town square every evening. There were always quite a few people out and about so we never felt unsafe, at least down in the lower village area. Not sure how it is now with fewer people in the area. Staying in Orient Village right now, lots of people walking from the beach/restaurants back their apartments, both day and night, very safe

One the of the things that will get my family back over there is having the restaurants, shops, and small grocery store back in operation.
