Day 13 - Started off with usual trip to La Sucriere Bakery for croissants. After checking our computers it was off to the pool for a little baking on the outside. Well that takes a lot out of you, so I laid down on the comfy sofa on the porch with that wonderful SXM breeze and an hour or so later decided to rejoin the world. After showers it was off to Philipsburg and DK Gems to pick up my daughter in laws necklace that DK had had fixed. There were three big cruise ships still in port oe having left a couple hours earlier. Lot of people. Then it was onto Chesterfield's for dinner with friends. Betty and I split our favorite meal there, panfried Grouper with baked potato, lightly cooked carrots, and fresh greenbeans.($21.95) Always a delight talking with Bruce and Susan.
Love the location of La Suchriere. Always try to stop for coffee & croissants on their porch overlooking the lagoon. If you get there early you can watch the :bread man" pick up the baguettes get in a rowboat and deliver them to the large boats in the lagoon. Sometimes watch people work on their boats. Once saw a man at the top of the boats mast. Wasn't sure what he was doing but we held our breaths hoping he wouldn't. fall.
