Correct, they have done this before. SXM is just a stopping point.

Of to hijack this thread but I saw two American jets take off, one looked regular and the other had TWA on the tail American on the side. They’re called Heritage Liveries, and have a paint job remiscent of an airline which American acquired. There are at least 6 of them. The only two that I have personally seen have been the TWA and the Piedmont liveries.

Adding to my Delta theme, they have Western, Northwest and they bought Pan Am’s Europe routes (not the same as the whole airline I guess).. United bought the Pan Am Pacific routes.
I saw a United Friendship (You Know Barbie Stewardess paint job) last week in Chicago.
