We arrived yesterday to sunny skies.
Departing Delta terminal 4 out of JFK was a breeze and especially for a Saturday. Packed flight but a good flight with no turbulence. Arrived on time BUT WOW what a complete sh$%$ show upon arrival. I'd love to blame it traveling on Saturday but we were the only plane arrival at Princess Juliana.
Arriving last year (same time frame) was more organized. Could be because less people were traveling then? We saw two empty buses waiting for us to deplane but once online we saw they weren't loading anyone. Next thing we know they depart and a few minutes later return to start boarding. No idea why they left empty only to return? Buses dropped us around the airport to an Arrival area. Again another line, this time though a security guard is standing watch and only allowing a few people inside terminal at a time. Once inside, a very long in sight but upside was our luggage was on the carousel waiting for us. We rented for the second time from SAX. We're here and couldn't wait to unpack and jump in the water.
Unpacked, suited up and dipped in the ocean. Ah, life is good. Calm water in front of our villa. After swimming around for a bit we walked over to El Zafaro for a drink. There was a nice breeze and we enjoyed our conversation with the bartender.
We decided to scope out Snoppy's (plan to attend Halloween party) and liked what we saw, stayed for a drink then left for the Greenhouse's happy hour and order of bang bang calamari. Calamari were much smaller and thinner pieces than I remember. Taste was still flavorful but meh on substance. We were there early so no problems with parking in the few assigned spots they have.
It was time to pick up groceries so off we went to the Carrefour on Union Rd. When we checked out noticed a sign which said 10% off purchases this weekend only with card. I shrugged it off as we don't food shop enough and I was too tired to go fill out form for a shopper's card. After our order rang up she asked if we wanted the discount. Yes, please. She called over to a woman at another counter asking for, "the card" and there we go, 10% off of our order.
By now we were super hungry and have been up since 4 am so decided take way food was a good options for us tonight. Our first trip to Roxy's Corner suggested by a friend of Facebook aquaintence of David's. The owners were so friendly, Roxy formerly worked at the Divi pre Irma. She made me mint tea when I declined a drink from their full bar because i was a bit queasy having no food and just plain tired. With the tea I ate a delicious Johnny Cake with Gouda while we waited for our take away meals. I got the butterfish with rice and peas and macaroni salad for $15. The fish was excellent with sautéed onions and peppers and a hint of curry and something sweet that I could easily become addicted to. I've been off carbs but couldn't resist the Johnny Cake nor rice & peas. David had bbq chicken with plantains and the same delicious topping that was on my fish. If you want Johnny Cakes w saltfish she makes makes them on Saturday mornings. They are offering a bbq today but I don't think we'll get back there today but will be back. ]
For those of you who have Facebook they have a page. She said if you send her a message she'll let you know what is on the menu that day.
Excuse any grammar or typo errors I was exhausted when I typed this and just too lazy to spell check this morning.
Up at 5:30 am to watch sun come up and look at the ocean from our deck. This sight is so familiar to us but never gets old.
I have photos but old netbook so it's taking forever to upload photos from my phone to computer. Will try and post them later.

Sorry to hear of the little airport glitch but everything else sounds perfect. Have never eaten at Roxys but from your description we will have to give it a try. The fish and Johnny cakes sound yummy.
Enjoy your time as I know you will.
Respectfully,
pat

Louise--There is no photo gallery from you, no. Remember that, for whatever reason, when you preview the image gallery, the pictures do NOT show up. You have to put something in the text box, then use attachment manager to upload the photos, then just post the note. Once you upload some photos, you can go back and edit the gallery, and add more photos, up to 20. OR you can use attachment anager and just affix the pictures directly to the post. They don't show up full screen that way, but they are attached to the post. You just have to be in full editor mode.
OH, I think I realized what you tried to do. You cannot add pictures to a gallery created by someone else. I think you tried to add pictures to my BSV photo gallery? You have to create a new gallery, just with pictures of your own.

Yes, Carol. that was the problem. I created a new gallery and added photos from Roxy's corner. I neglected to add a description and when I tried to edit I didn't say how to add a description since they were already posted. Now I know. So much easier to post photos this way.
Today the seas are much rougher with undertow but sun is shining and we woke up to a gorgeous sun rise and dined on the deck for breakfast. I don't know how I didn't sleep past 5 am but I couldn't get back to sleep so we stayed up to enjoy a very full day.

Louise--Glad you got it figured out. If you want to post the photos full screen in a report, you use the IMAGE tag. Depending on your browser, you right click on the picture within the photo gallery to get the url of the picture.
