Has anyone taken a drone with them to the BVI’s? From the US to the BVI’s?
One of our crew mates wants to bring one. Solely recreational, not commercial use.
Do you need to register it or get a license?
Thanks!

Thanks Carol - I looked at that but at first glance it was clear as mud :-)
Looks like from there we links you don’t need a special license.

Friends of ours have taken drones down and used them - as well there are photographers on island that use them - I don't think the regs have been introduced as yet

No issues so far - though there are “no fly” zones (for example at the Baths) where at least my software won’t let me take off at all!

Dux - the baths was the place our friend wants to fly. Why is it a no fly zone?

The airport zone. Mine was software restricted to not even take off. Was able to use it on Anegada without issue yesterday

I actually like that software feature. Too bad there isn't a way to adjust when an airport is shutdown as Virgin Gorda is again.

Go Irish!!

Aha - I didn’t know the airport on VG is near the baths!

It is under the base leg of the approach.
