We stayed here for the last few days. In the back of our head was any issues getting from the French side but in the end we were kind of tired of Mt. V and wanted something different/better. We saw availability on booking.com and then contacted the Boon direct. We packed up the night before, mostly and went about having our Orient beach day and then at the end of our day grabbed our bags and went and checked in.

The welcone at the Boon was very warm and we were soon in our unit which was unique garden studio. As susal the bed was a 4 poster, full refrigerator a kitchen.

The Boon fixed our issues from last year which were centered around beach chair qtys, quality and most importantly shade for quests.

There are now some permanent palapas in the guest section and they have unbrellas to plant where guests want them. So now it was really nice to have quality shade right near our unit and a cold fridge to get cold drinks.

We ate at the Yacht club and went out for dinner so didnt partake in the Boonie restaurant this time. We did utilize the on beach bar for buckets of beer which was really nice.

And we liked the planes.

The a Boon is awesome, dont tell anybody.

Thanks for your insights. Reports like this are always helpful when making future plans. Never stayed here in the past, but it's been on our list to places to consider.

We absolutely love Mary’s Boon! Stayed at most places along
Simpson Bay and to us none compare . That said it’s not for everyones style if your looking for a Westin type or name brand or big property . Unfortunately more and more people have discovered it so availability can be limited even in the summer months so we book our trip far in advance. The Boon Restaurant and Bar is great. We love the tuna steak and I normally don’t like tuna. Breakfast Is good too, not fast but good. It’s not brand new but it’s very well maintained ,very Caribbean , incredible beach and if you need anything the staff is just excellent. Rooms are nice and I understand they are slowly updating the older one’s. It’s a very special place. Just has a really fun vibe. Not to be missed even if your not staying there.

Have been staying at Mary's Boon since the mid-90s and obviously like it. Units and parking at BSV are superior but do not make up for location, bar and dining room. The dining area, stove and refrigerator may be better at BSV, but the 7 units I've used at Mary's Boon have all been adequate and the staff has been wonderful.

We are at the Boon for the first time. We got here Monday last. We were weather delayed a full day. We were able to add a day to our checkout so we can be here for two weeks.

The Boon is defiately our kind of place. Nice people and a great location ..

I am glad to read all the great reports about Mary's Boon. We have eaten there a number of times.....but will be spending two days there in March before we move into our units at Royal Islander. I posted a couple of places i never stayed at...and did take this forum's advise to stay at the Boon. We did want to save a few bucks, and for two days at the Boon took one of the downstairs rooms without a view...but figure the all day beach view will more than make up for the no view at night view. smile Less than two months now....can't wait.

Marys Boon is a great place to stay. We have stayed there many times but on our first visit we went for the downstairs room to save a few bucks, how bad could it be? By 9:30 that 1st night we asked to be moved to another room. Very damp, many bugs with an odor. They were very accommodating and we moved to another room. We have not stayed there since Irma but will return. I know people choose that room for the price but for a few more dollars, go better.

We stay in the lower lobby rooms off and on as recently as last July and really don’t mind them. Since Irma most were updated bigger TVs and furniture. Years ago they may have had a musty smell but now they have a dehumidifier in the room. Never saw any bugs but wouldn’t surprise me since it’s the tropics or after a heavy rain maybe. They do have a high window which we don’t really mind. Still just steps to the beach. Actually I like the fact that they stay cooler and a little darker rooms if you’d like to sleep longer and cheaper on the budget.
