https://www.foxnews.com/science/coronavirus-diamond-princess-cruise-ship-up-to-17-days-cdc

Studies by CDC found virus lived up to 17 days on surfaces of symptomatic and asymptomatic cabins after they were vacated but before disinfection was initiated.

This is far longer than I have seen previously.

But they also said that it wasn't certain it was still transferable.

All I can say is I’m disinfecting all the great stuff enroute to the house from online shopping.

The answer is know one knows but 17 > 9 > 3 days I’ve heard a lot on TV. And it was the CDC.

Better safe than sorry.

Scuba, as I re-read it, you are right. The RNA (I guess like DNA) is still present, but doesn’t exactly say it is alive and transferable. I got grabbed by the headline.

“ Believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you read” unless it is TTOL, then it is always True.
