Trying something different this trip - we've heard great things about CocoMaya and want to have dinner there this trip.
Has anyone been to Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor or CocoMaya recently?

Was just at CocoMaya on new Years day. We love it there! You have to be prepared for a staggered meal as it is mostly tapas style and food comes out randomly. Only one of us actually ordered a meal so the rest of us just ate as things came out. Somehow it works there though.
What are you asking about in particular in Spanishtown or VGYH? Cute Arawak store now open in Yacht harbor but that is it for that building.

good advance notice on the tapa style dining. My group is not a fan to small plates dining but love the food and setting of Coco Maya and we go at least twice each trip.

We actually love eating small plates/appetizers and their sushi looks great. Sounds like a perfect fit for us!
As for the marina, just wondering if anyone had docked there recently and perhaps what we might do while we're there other than hanging out on the boat in a slip. (we will already have done the Baths)

Really not much to do in town.
I do recommend you check out Dixies for their fried chicken (which is usually sold out by afternoon), Mimi's kitchen (the owner is so sweet!) for authentic island food, and Bath and Turtle actually has a coffee shop in the back making iced coffee drinks and baked goods until 2PM.
You've done the Baths but have you visited Spring Bay?

Depending on the day, Chez Bamboo/Bath and Turtle had live music, although that was March 2019.Their FB page has updates. Looks like they have a DJ, maybe some music weekly. https://www.facebook.com/TheBathandTurtleChezBamboo/

We are headed back at the end of February so I can check then. The inside dining was devastated by Irma but they had done much with the outdoors space.

This is our 15 or so visit, but we are land based near the Baths at Guavaberry. We usually have lunch at one or the other.

Haven't been to Top of the Baths for 20+ years. Easy to catch a taxi there?

Good coffee shop at Top of the Baths now. We liked spending time at Spring Bay and then running up to Mag Dogs for lunch and bringing frozen coffee back with us.
You should be able to connect with a taxi no problem. You could also think about renting a car for a day. More freedom!

Top of the Baths was open February 2018 when many places were closed due to Irma (like Mad Dogs, we missed its opening by a few weeks). They were much better than I remembered from earlier trips. Mango daiquiris we’re tasty. Edith was back on island but I’m trying to remember if she was back at MDs. We loved having lunch at Mad Dogs, before they rebuilt and expanded the menu (the BLTs were great). You could watch the Kestrels hunt from the porch. She’d even make sure there was some bourbon about for me. Can be hard to find down there. Last time we were there, we also ate at the bar at the Village Cafe & Restaurant several times. Sort of walkable fromSpanish Town. My husband loved their grouper. Spanish Town cafe is along the road to the village cafe, more basic island fare. I miss the Island Pot, destroyed in Irma, a shack that had very good take out. I don’t think they have rebuilt the Mine Shaft. Was a fun place at one time but had declined a bit in later years.

Just back to the boat from another perfect night Coco Maya. Can’t say enough about what a special place it is. The really go above and beyond. Get there at least a half hour before sunset to appreciate the full beauty of this spot. We are at VGYH tonight for the first time, which is fine but a work in progress. We have previously moored in the bay, which is fair but a longish dinghy ride to the dock.

We dock in Leverick and then cab down for the Baths in the afternoon and then Coco Maya evening and night....IMHO Leverick much nicer port than ST. We were in ST 18 months ago and the VGYH marina was still not fully rebuilt...you can provision at Bobbys there

We’ve always liked Leverick but choosing Spanish town because we need to drop crew off early the next am at Scrub.

Love Coco Maya! Plan on hitting there in about 8 or 9 days. We got married at Fischer's Cove next door and had a rehearsal dinner at Coco Maya 6 years ago so we plan on our 5 the year + Covid wedding anniversary dinner there.

Keep an eye on the Cruise Boat Schedule (top of forum page) as the Baths gets crazy on days when there are 5000+ cruise ship passengers in the area.
