Peaceful Eastern North Carolin...
We've been avoiding PJIA on Saturdays for several years, but are planning a short (week long) trip for our 35th anniversary in 2023. While our actual anniversary is at the end of February, that puts us in Regatta weekend, and we really don't care to go during that chaotic time. We've been looking at the beginning of low season, which starts on April 15. The villa we've chosen discourages mid-week rentals (Wed to Wed, for example), which is what we'd prefer.

My question for those of you who regularly travel to the island during this timeframe, are Saturdays in mid-April all that bad at the airport?

Hi, Georgia,

We usually do April every year and in all honesty, I’m not sure there’s much difference these days between the April and November or December Fridays. April can be very busy or not so much depending on when Easter and spring school vacations fall and our Friday departures have been nutsy-cuckoo lately.

So perhaps we’ll finally get to see you again in April of ‘23?

Respectfully,

pat

It’s so hard to say because of Irma, COVID and reconstruction nothing seems right. We arrived Saturday 1/15/21 and from landing to the sidewalk we made it under 30 minutes!! Bizarre!! Never expected that! But there was also a strike and we were the only plane that made it on time so it seems. Keep an eye on when Easter is at that just adds more chaos than Regatta!!!!
