We're considering a stay at Simpson Bay Resort (or Villas) in January 2023. We're a family of 4 with 2 kids (8 and 5). Anyone that has stayed at SBR or SBV would you recommend one over the other and if you recommend SBR is there a specific building that is preferred over another? Is there anyway to have a say in which building you are placed in at SBR? Thanks!

If you are going to rent a car, they are all nice. If not renting the climb up the hill to the resort upper buildings from the casino area is a killer! I think the villas waterview rooms would be the best, but I haven't stayed in the villas.

We stayed in a 2 br unit in the Villas for 2 weeks in February. It was very nice. We have stayed in the Marina bldg, but that was many years ago before the units were redone. The Marina building was a good location. Both have nice views.
It is personal preference, but we prefer a waterfront unit.
We rented (via Redweek.com) directly from the owner of the 2 weeks. It was less expensive than renting through the resort and we knew in advance exactly what unit we would be in.
For the first time ever, we did not rent a car and we had no issues walking everywhere. Taxi's are easy to get if needed.

We will be renting a car to travel around the island. We are likely looking for a 2 bedroom unit as well but understand that we can get that at either the resort or the villas so not sure which way to go.

I would recommend the villas over the other buildings. We used to own a unit in the lower B building for many years but gave it back. The last 3 years we rented in the villa’s and will be there again in November for 2 weeks. All units in the villa’s have nice water views which may not be the same in the other buildings. All units have been updated over the past few years and are nice but you may have to walk up hills in the other units.

The Villas. All two-bedroom, all water view. Not as many two bedrooms in other buildilngs. Also, Villas are the latest to have been totally renovated.

Well, not exactly correct, as they rent out studios and one bedroom units at the villas, as they divide up the two bedroom units.
