Well, that sucks, for us! Through May 2023, not June, which is when we go next. I read something in the latest story they had about the renovation of the airport, talking about free wifi, so I was hoping they were going to just be doing free wifi all the time now. Two hours is better than a half hour though, that's for sure. Maybe they will extend it eventually to be permanent at least two hours free, regardless of the season.

Rather than complain about the airport appreciate the fact you can visit SXM Very true.

Any inconvenience I have ever had, flying into or out of PJIA, was minimal compared to the joy and pleasure I enjoyed while on the island. I find no problems with the airport and look forward to when the rebuilt airport is completed. The airport could be a shack, and I would gladly fly into it, if it would allow me to plant my [censored] in the sand.

It gets me there and thatβs all that really matters. ππππ

And with that, this one is done. It is not that hard to play nice in the sandbox.
Good luck on finding a "puddle jumper" with a direct/non-stop flight from NY to Grand Case airport. I do not see many (if any) of those from the NY area willing to make 1-2 (or more connections) to end up on a "puddle jumper" to fly into Grand Case and avoid PJIA.
Yes, PJIA has issues and is way overdue to be operating and looking much better and I am sure there is a lot of local corruption with the project. We all have a choice, fly into and out of PJIA with the known issues, not go at all or do as you indicated, fly into Grand Case. Personally, I see very few if any travelers willing to do this. Continually ragging on the airport is solving nothing. Their country, their airport and ultimately, their problem.
