Try the Sunset Hotel in Gustavia (nothing fancy, knee-crawling distance from Le Select) Le P'tit Morne in Colombier, and Hotel Le Village (ex-Village St Jean) in St Jean. If you go 3 or more then La Normandie is an option.

Sunset hotel is a great place for one night, you can have dinner in town and walk around at night. The view from the balcony is awesome. You can watch the town come alive in the morning . Le P'tit Morne in Colombier is also a great place you can pick up items at the bakery, the view is awesome too and you have a kitchen and pool.

We’ve stayed at both places we like Sunset for overnight, P’tit for longer stay.

Wow, didn't realize you're talking about New Years. Frankly, I doubt you could get only 1 or 2 nights around NY. Very high occupancy level then..

Not only very high occupancy, but long minimum stay requirements. Things will open up a few days after New Years.

OK, that makes sense for long minimum stays, surprised not very high occupancy though.

Rereading what she said it indicated a very high occupancy during that period.

Prices will be up too. Christmas/New Years is silly season on prices.

Ouch, you were all right. I can get a place for 1 night --- for a few grand.....I saw one villa on Airbnb for $346/night but I'd hate to tie it up from longer bookings................looks like a day trip this time. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />

Pelican--Kind of doubt that you would be able to book that place for one night that time of year anyway. You need to go a different time of year and try it out then.
