The excavator left today, quite a spectacle watching it move along the beach to get to the work spot the other day, and then leaving today. Two "Danger" buoys now mark the spot.

Thanks for the update. I understand one buoy was placed the other day. There must have been a lot of sand movement for this to become exposed now.

There's way more involved than just using an excavator to move the wreck. The sand acts like a suction. They need divers to jet out the sand or a suction dredge. Then attach air bags to lift the pieces to the surface to be moved.

I don't doubt that. My point was, I am surprised the wreck is just now exposed to the point it posed a danger. The beach bar has been there for several years, I have been in that area many times, and there has never been any mention of a wreck or danger in the water there.

If I'm recalling correctly, the year Karakter first opened they warned us about this water danger, as well as pointed out turtle nests that should not be disturbed.
We sorta always knew it was there.
