Grand Case Beach Club

Grand Case Beach Club - 01/28/2016 08:16 PM

After 14 years of using villas on St. Martin, we've decided to give GCBC a try in March. In the past, driving from the end of Grand Case Boulevard to GCBC it has been pretty dark and made me a little uncomfortable; as in glad to be in the car. Does anyone have experience walking from GCBC to the restaurants?

GCBC has it's own golf cart to take you anywhere in Grand Case.

Been staying at GCBC for years. I've never driven to a restaurant.

The area is pretty heavily patrolled by private security. GCBC has someone walking the grounds 24/7, and we usually pass a security person near Ti Coin Creole.

Don't sweat it.

Any restaurant can call "Johnny golf cart" to take you home.

My only advice is to be aware of any scooters if you walk.

Definitely, that is the modus operandi for these people--run up behind people and rob the lady's purse.

For me, I'd pay the $5 or $10 each way for the golf cart, just to make myself much less of a target.

If you are not staying out late there are usually several groups/couples at one time walking up and down that street going/returning from dinner/cocktails which does make it feel a bit safer.....you could also stall at whatever end of the street you are on and walk behind another group that is sure to come by if you didn't want to deal with the cart.

We stayed there last February, and walked to dinner every night. It is a dark road for a ways, but we had no issues. We did see security guards once or twice.
We really like GCBC, and love being able to walk to dinner, so we can have a bottle of wine, and not worry about driving.

We alternate years staying there and even tho we rent a car we always walk into town for dinner.

If you decide to walk I suggest you carry a flashlight. Not because of darkness, there are street lights, but to make sure passing cars are aware of you and don't get to close.

We love it!
