Hi all!!! Is it unusually cloudy there this time of year? Every time I look at the webcams it seems very cloudy. We will be there next week! Hoping for lots of sun..
We're just back from two and a half weeks on the island. Our first week was sunny and hot and simply gorgeous but the better part of the last week and a half was off and on clouds and sun, but surprisingly still very enjoyable. We had constant strong breezes and only needed the airco on perhaps five days out of the eighteen we were there. Towards the end of our trip it became very muggy and the air was incredibly heavy but the good news - no rain to speak of and we still came home with great color. Hope you're able to enjoy your trip and make the best of whatever Mother Nature throws your way.
You are absolutely correct. There is really no reliable method of predicting the weather as it is changing world wide the last few years. Enjoy your trip!

I'm going to be Debbie Downer here. Having working in skin cancer for 10+ years before jumping to solely software development, there is NO SUCH THING as great color.
Here now...it is very unusual Torrential downpour in Grand Case both yesterday & today. We did get about 2 hours of partly cloudy/sunny today, but otherwise, not very pretty
I was thinking about that. We're there right after Memorial Day, and even if it stops raining right now, mosquitoes will be out in force. What does everyone do when it rains day after day? I feel like if we've got a some rainy day activities in mind (besides reading, napping and drinking) we'll jinx the weather into being 85 degrees with blazing sun again.
A rainy day pub crawl is fun. Our resort also has a movie lending library, and we sometimes find movies there that we haven't seen. We bring cards and poker chips with us too. We've actually only had two complete rain-outs in all our visits.
Today in grand case was cloudy with just a quick sprinkle & full sun since 2pm I did bring a game - Rummikub, in case we are utterly bored with rain days, but so far, we have entertained ourselves!
Oh my GOODNESS!!! I just looked at the Maho web cam for the weather today and what a MESS!! 4 ships in today!
We were there from April 19-May 1. Wednesday through Saturday was off and on again clouds and sun but still warm enough for beach days and sunburns. Sunday, April 24 through Saturday April 30 was great. Light breeze, sun, warm water. Our weather forecast had shown rain the entire time. In addition, the Saharan Dust is upon SXM again. Last few days there were a bit hazy.
Yep, always good to plan around the cruise schedule. We are off on a boat trip today and picked today based on 4 ships in port. Tomorrow will be a better day with no ships in port. Weather today has been great.

Yesterday morning, at 7:00 I looked at the web cam and the blue chairs and umbrellas were already up. My thought was, how many ships today?
