El Zafiro - 01/15/2017 06:44 PM

Just wanted to mention to all El Zafiro fans that the place seems to be firing on all cylinders now. Just returned from a busy Sunday there. The place was full and the service and food excellent. Everyone there has a great attitude and the setting is one of the best on the island. Free chairs and umbrellas if you eat or drink there and lots of space between you and your neighbors.

That's good news, as we love the setting, but haven't felt that the value was there.

So great to hear. Happy for Ed, Nicole and little Bella. The greedy part of me wanted them to win but be a little sleepy so it wouldn't become the "in" spot. But shame on me and good for them.

Next to Beachside Villas at the airport. Go past Sunset and make a left at the first road, sign for Beachside Villas, go to the end of the road and it will be on your right.

Simpson Bay beside Beachsidw Villas. Drive past Maho and SBAG and follow the road staying left on White Sands road.

Head to Sunset Beach Bar and at the end of the road before you enter the Algeria complex turn left, keeping the airport on your immediate left. Follow this road, do not turn off, and just before the closed gate to Beachside Villas, ElZafiro will be on your right. Pull in and park and walk the sidewalk out to the bar and beach.

It's a quiet area with reasonably priced meals (or at least, they were when we were there last April....) that I have always had good luck with, but I'm not particularly fussy about beach food. The water can often be a little rough but if you primarily want to curl up with a cold drink and a good book, it's a great spot to do so.

And like the previous poster, I can't wait to see little Bela - she was cutting teeth when we last saw her but what a cutie pie!!
