Best beaches for young children - 03/06/2017 04:23 AM

We are arriving later this week and have our son and his family joining us this year. Looking for suggestions of beaches calm enough for little ones and any suggestions of activities they might enjoy. Thanks.

Le Galion near the Butterfly Farm is known locally as "baby beach" since the local school takes the school kids there for PhysEd (swimming). It is protected by a reef and is normally calm with little surf, underwater the slope is gentle, there are services (chairs and beach cafe available). For energetic adults there is wind and kite surfing rentals also available. Access road is paved down to Butterfly Farm, about a 1/8 mile unpaved to beach area.

Orient doesn't normally have a cliff going into the ocean, and it's usually fairly calm, but you kind of don't know ahead of time. Lots of great activities on Orient for all. The butterfly farm is also close, as well as Parrotville, a relatively new attraction on island.
