At a Million and a Half....don't think it will be selling anytime soon. Maybe in the old days it may have been worth that price....but now....with Sonesta AI....their business has definitely tanked compared to before the AI.

When we were there in April it was dead every night we were in the area. I doubt very much that Cheri owns the land. Spadarro family owns the entire Maho area, and charges a ridiculously large rent to all the tenants. It was the rental price that drove out so many businesses over the years in that location. I truly doubt that he would've sold Cheri that one parcel. Over the years, i have posted my opinion of the place many times. If they end up closing...i will NOT miss it at all. I am pretty sure that the owners of the other restaurants in the area won't miss it either. Quiet dining, outside seating every night, will be a dream come true for them. a THIRTY YEAR plus run is and was a great run for Cheri's. Just too bad that the show had so little updating all these years.

Being two people that started going to St.M is the mid 80s. we remember seeing cheri and spadaro walking hand in hand. Our thought were that there was a huge connection. and there was. He started her up... We spent lots of nights there and had fun, but have not been there in years... Its over in my opinion.. Chei is not young anymore, and its time for her to move on... She has has family or did on Long Island new York. She had her day, her day is over... What to do with that property? who knows, so much else going on in that area... Oh well.... Cheri is done for sure

She got it completely from Saro signing that paper . His Son tried in the beginning to get it change but could not.

That's exactly what I heard - that she owns that spot lock, stock and barrel. She also got a big piece of land close to Aqua Marina where she built a big Villa. I never saw it because it's private all way in by the Lagoon.

If the land comes with that 1.5 million price tag...with ZERO rent...it may be a decent investment after all. Again...it's like the old saying...''it's not WHAT you know...it's WHO you know"

My guess (and pure speculation) is if 1.5 mill included the land the restaurant sits on, the Maho group would scoop it up in a heartbeat. Which makes me thinks it's just the restaurant business and not the location.

Someone told my daughter that Cheri's is now closed. Is that true?

We did Cheri's way back and have stopped because of the music and there is a lot of better places on the Dutch side.
