Sure is nice to have local correspondents to supply accurate and unbiased status on so many things in SXM.

Looks can be deceiving! The picture was taken with a phone at a distance. There are even a couple places where second floor roof and 2 walls are gone! But it's a busy place and coming along.

I love it! I can see all four of the places I've stayed there (two hotels and two apartments) in one photo. Still a lot of blue tarps on roofs. Hopefully by the end of this year (the earliest I could consider a trip) things will be back moving and the beach operations will be up and running again.

I am hoping by june 2018 things will be alot better even. Got engaged in 2007 at orient beach. Honeymooned there in 2008. This will be our 10th anniversary and we are looking forward to bars, restaraunts, etc being back. We have missed this beautiful place so much.
