BSV rates - 02/20/2018 06:33 PM

Hi, thinking about coming to the Dutch side (I know, right?) in early June. Looking at BSV who showed availability in June. Anyone know what the rates would be for the two of us? Thanks in advance!

If you go to the website you will find the rates listed there under the heading VILLAS. or at least close enough to get a general idea, and then you can follow it up with a phone call or an email but know it often takes them a day or so to get back to you. From experience, you will enjoy it there. handshake handshake

Your best answer would be to call or email them for there rates.

Sign of the times. Lets keep this string going.

As Pat said, their rates are on the website. If you are only two people, you book the one bedroom rate, but you have the use of the whole villa, except the second bedroom, which is locked off. Not sure where you saw availability, as I wasn't aware that there is anywhere you can book BSV online? Best to give them a call for availability.

I am expecting significant rise in the rates around the Simpson Beach/Bay area as it is one of the only areas that is up and running on the island. In 15 years I have never seen as many French speaking locals at the eating places, they are busy every night.

I do not understand the business sense of your statement. Business is good so jack up the prices? If I was making a profit and had more customers I would leave things as they are. But what do I know?

Supply and Demand will raise prices in most industries.

Kind of like 'high season" versus "low season" rates for lodging or cars. The more demand, the higher the price. Many places are full when their rates are the highest and have vacancy when the rates are lower.

I would just like to point out that this conversation about rate increases is a general one, and not directed at rates at BSV in particular. As of NOW, rates at BSV are the same as before the hurricane. Offseason rates of $175 per night plus 5% tax for a one bedroom unit, are a STEAL, for what you get. Last summer, just before Irma hit, renovations were done, with solid roofs installed in the atrium and the dining tables moved there to create a real dining room, and all units at BSV now have a/c in the living room, which is a huge improvement! Because of the cost for the electric for the a/c, I have been anticipating that they will raise the rates, to pay for the a/c usage, but it hasn't happened as of yet.

Maybe timeshares won't be such a bad deal. Not directed to you Scubaman, I know you love yours as I do mine.

Understood and I was making a statement in general.

Like with the Horny Toad, always full during high season with rates that I think you and I both thought were a little on the high side but vacancy during low season when rates were at their lowest.
