Leaving today. Question - 02/10/2019 12:23 PM

How long does it take to get through airline check in and customs on a Sunday.?

Re: Leaving today. Question - 02/10/2019 12:39 PM

We arrived on a Sunday (330pm) a few weeks ago....bus to immigration....only a few ahead of us....maybe 15 minutes and then another 15 for bags (if any)....

Obviously if Air France or KLM arrives just before you things WILL change

I should have phrased differently. Leaving SXM today.☹️

It normally doesn’t take that long, but depends on a few factors of coarse. Like how many departures, staffing, and did the airlines sell every seat, (full planes).
For us it’s normally around an hour, and we have carryons, and pre-printed airline tickets. Good luck!

Oops...sorry for assuming....The biggest delay when leaving SXM was the wait to check in. We got there a little after noon for a 320 flight (AA) planning on dumping bags and wandering around outside but the AA check in didn't open until 1230p and by then there were MANY in line waiting....two AA flights leaving nearly the same time. Priority check in definitely helped but it definitely could have gone smoother. Kinda lame to announce that you should be there three hours before departure and then not be open....

The rest wasn't bad...and much better than the check in....not used to not using PreCheck so that added a bit but still OK...hopefully you will be flying a different airline

...and you can't pre-print boarding passes so EVERYONE has to get in line.

We were able to pre-print our boarding passes sitting right in the office of BSV, through AA. Simple and easy! We also meet others that had done the same.

Interesting....maybe just a glitch that day. That would definitely help those without checked bags

We, as well will be doing Sunday travel this time . Just worked out it was the day with the best routes and times for us. We have been wondering the same thing about the return trip so thanks for bringing it up. Flying AA as well.

We printed ours in November and they could care less. We are here now and will be leaving March 1st and wasn’t going to bother printing them.

What do you mean "they could care less" ? You had to get them reprinted, or they accepted the ones you had preprinted?

They said it didn’t matter that we already had them, that they had to reprint them. Could be an isolated incident where one employee does things her way.

Re: Leaving today. Question - 02/11/2019 01:30 AM

Well it worked out rather well. Left Sunset at 12:50 and were waiting near the gate at 1:45 and that included returning the car at Budget.

United flight to Newark 50 minutes early.

Now the dreaded between visits time.

Short report on the post Irma SXM as seen from our eyes tomorrow. Still the best spot in the Caribbean IMHO
