I took pictur a of the La Vista and La Vista Beach resales from private and company. Just curious, at La Vista Beach what are the pros/cons of floors 1,2&3?

Am I understanding that once you buy the week at the sales price your primary out of pocket is the $750 AMF. Or do you pay more each stay?

How do the floaters work, you take what you can get when you can get and thus the reduced price?

Is La Vista independent or associated with a biggie?

Only thing you pay extra each week of stay is the 50.00 mandatory island timeshare fee. La Vista is locally owned. Not tied to another resort or company.

Pelican Pete, in answer to your question regarding the floater time frame is usually from mid April to mid Dec. you would contact LaVista and request what week/weeks you want to reserve for a particular year. only difference in floater versus fixed is you are not quaranteed a particular unit. I owned floater for approx. 15 years and always got the week/weeks I wanted. In my case I owned a deluxe studio which consisted of Units 7-12 at LaVista (on the hill) When I reserved I always was able to get the weeks I wanted and would request a particular unit if available No problems. You do not pay anymore than the AMF fee each year other than the timeshare tax when you stay there. LaVista is family owned and they treat you like family. Could not ask for a better place

Has that $750 stayed the same or less over the yeara or higher and lower? Special assessments for mahor renovations and/or hurricanes?

La Vista is independent, owned by a very honest German family. No tricks or games. We've owned there for ten years and have never had a special assessment. We were able to trade our 2017 weeks with RCI after Irma, so incurred no loss for that.

The units on each floor are identical, except that the first floor units have patios instead of balconies. If stairs are a problem for you, then the first floor would be better. However, the walkways around the units are right there, so you have much less privacy. Our unit is on the third floor; we like the privacy of that, and the unobstructed views.

Georgia-I assume after Irma, they rebuilt the shade huts by the LaVista Beach pool? If so, they sort of block the view a bit from the ground floor, depending on the unit. Unless one can't do stairs, I think the second floor is the best, less stairs than the third floor, and a full view. Any unit at LVB is great though!

I will back up what Georgia said about LaVista.

Thanks.’in looking at one of the pictures I took, it alludes to mtiple floor plans including junior suirlte, penthouse, cottage, and several others. Are all the La Vista Beach units one type or do they vary? Thx

LaVista BEACH just has studios and 2 BR apartments. The other types of units are at LaVista.

There is a listing that says “odd year weeks”. What does that mean. They are two weeks in a row for sale.

Means every other year usage.

Pelican Pete, AMF fees when I purchased in 1998 were approx. 350 per week and only one special assessment over the years , don't remember the amount so it could not have been too significate. You can see in all those years AMF fees have not really increased much If you are considering purchasing a time share, I highly recommend LaVista, Family owned so you know who you are dealing with. Andrea and the entire crew/staff treat you like family. In my opinion it is the best, close to all the action whether you are walking or driving, and quiet when you just want to stay put and relax by the pools. Wish you best of luck on whatever you decide

In case you needed more enthusiastic support we share a timeshare with my mother-in-law at LaVista, had our honeymoon there and really love the space and location. We have a deluxe studio and floating weeks and never had an issue on timing though we plan very far in advance :-)

Carol, I'm not sure what you mean by shade huts. There are four large palapas in the sand area behind the pool, and yes, those are still there.

Yes, I wasn't sure what you called them. Thanks. I've never stayed on the ground floor at LaVista Beach, but I would think they would block the view some, from some rooms.

I would think so too. I don't like the lack of privacy on the patios of those first floor units, but the patios are huge! I think if you had kids it would be great.
