Sunset Webcam - 07/10/2019 11:53 AM

Is Sunset Beach web cam down? I haven't been able to bring it up since yesterday.

I believe it is. I haven't been able to get my daily "fix" of the island for a few days now either.

They probably shut it down when all you can see is a load of big ugly rocks. Bad for business.

Just looking at the Sunset cam. Wow. Mostly all rocks. Even some of the lounge chairs are in the rocks. Looks like those rocks can double as end tables.

I have watched them get creative with the placement of the chairs over the past couple of months, but today it looks as if some may tumble down on top of the others.

Too bad there isn't some way to move those boulders.

Re: Sunset Webcam - 07/18/2019 05:32 PM

No need to move them. They will be covered back up by sand soon enough. And possibly, if those boulders weren't there, the road might erode away..

Re: Sunset Webcam - 07/18/2019 08:18 PM

For all the times we have been, we have never seen Maho with that little sand. When the ships were in and the excursions were at SSBB there were so many people with no place to watch planes it made it damned scary to drive by there. I had visions of someone falling off the wall in front of or on the car. Lots of people, lots of liquor, plenty of traffic and no place to stand or walk......a disaster looking for a way to happen.
