Wai’ Plage - 01/05/2020 09:02 PM

Wow again!! This place is not to be missed. It is huge! Christelle has seating for 200 up at restaurant & 280 chairs on beach!! Last Sunday she had people waiting. Today super busy! Excellent lunch. The best plantains I have ever had. Going to try photos. Bear in mind my cell phone is 5s little screen. Got menu.

If she does half of what she did for Le Piment , this place will be a hit!! Hard work breeds success and she Works harder then most!! We will be regulars in March !!

I think it's where Kontiki was. Straight down from alamanda. The next one down the beach from Bikini heading to club o.
Forgot to ask about chairs. Will do. Bikini is $30 for 2 chairs & umbrella.
She has 23 employees & they were all busy.

Thanks for sharing all this info. I will definitely check this place out in March. You definitely have purchased the essential items for a wonderful vacation. So Wai Place is in between Bikini (green chairs and umbrellas) and the new Kontiki (dark red chairs and umbrellas). Sounds like a great location. Just curious if you have encountered any traffic issues or blockages between the Dutch and French sides? I'm trying to monitor this situation since we are eight weeks away from our next visit. Sounds as if all is moving along well as long as you avoid Rue de Sandy Ground (which would not be a route I have ever traveled to reach the Orient Beach area).

Glad to hear that Air Transat went well for you. We often fly out of Toronto when traveling to Europe, but it's usually with Lufthansa via Air Canada. I'll have to check Air Transat out the next time around.

Kontiki is where it always was. I believe Wai Plage is where Kakao was. Kakao is now where Waikiki was.

Thanks, Kaye ... got it! It's definitely a challenge to remember where everything was located in the past, but as things move forward it's encouraging to see more new places opening up. Now, if we can only see the return of Pedro's which to me, was the iconic spot on Orient Beach (along with Club O.).

No traffic issues to date. Going to Philipsburg tomorrow to have lunch with friends. Everyone says no problem.. Yes wai plage is where Kakao was. 2 chairs with umbrella $30 Front row & $20 behind them. No discount if you are eating there. But she's packing them in.

A couple of pictures we took while at lunch the other day. I had the ribs and Tim had coconut encrusted mahi-mahi. Delicious!

Thanks to all the folks above for sharing. Those ribs look very good. We'll definitely eat here in March (and drink a little, too).
