Lee's has always had great lobster in the past before Irma and I'm sure it's still as good now. Skipjacks has always had great reviews for their lobsters but have not had theirs yet.

Many think Pineapple Pete Lobster Thermador is best on island but I prefer mine grilled.

The best grilled Caribbean lobster we’ve ever had on SXM was at Uncle Harrys, now long gone but the next best was in the old Lee’s. It was garlic butter basted and delicious. Their grill man really knew what he was doing. A little more upscale dining from Lees was Skipjacks and their grilled lobster was very good too, however, a very recent review of Skipjacks has me wondering. I intend to go back to Lees in April and give it a try.

When it comes to Lobster Thermidor, I think we’ve tried a ton of places including Pineapple Pete’s in Simpson Bay and the best we found was always Antoine’s By the Sea on Front Street in P’Berg but it, too, has changed hands and we haven’t been there of late.

And the very best grilled Caribbean lobster we ever had in all the islands was at Scilly Caye on Anguilla but if you’re not already on Anguilla, it makes for a very expensive lunch!

Not much help, am I? 😊😊

Not sure about the Simpson Bay area (many of this forum can help you there), but Chesterfield's near the cruise port just to the east of Phillipsburg has grilled lobster to die for. I order this every single time we go there, though the latest price is now up to $40. But, you get two big lobster halves filled with grilled lobster meat that you pull away from the shell with the tools provided. Served with warm butter, I totally dive into this and enjoy every bite. After the tail sections, you have to work a little bit for the meat in other areas but it's s fun endeavor. I was actually too full on lobster at our last visit (something I thought I would never experience). How many times in the states do we order a lobster tail with our main entree and you get one that's the size of a large shrimp. Three bites later and it's gone, and you're yearning for more. Not here. And, this place has lovely seating with a view of the cruise port which adds to the experience.

Thanks Pat! Headed to Angilla for a week in February, and already have a plan for lunch on Scilly Cay, and will give the grilled lobster a try!

Used to think Chesterfields, then thought Pineapple Pete's, now I say Skipjacks.
