TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Due to the COVID-19 epidemic Sint Maarten has established a mandatory health authorization application through an Electronic Health Authorization System (EHAS) for every visitor whether arriving by air, boat or in transit. This includes Sint Maarten and Sint Martin residents.
If you are suffering from flu like symptoms and/or fever travel will be denied by the airline and by the EHAS.

rt-PCR test for the SARS-COV-2 virus obtained from a naso-pharyngeal swab only and performed within 120 hours prior to departure to Sint Maarten (last leg in case of connecting flights) is required for all travelers originating from a country that is categorized as high or moderate risk. Other tests such as antibody tests or antigen tests and tests performed outside of this 120 hours period will not be accepted.

Scubaman-- PLEASE POST A LINK in future. Thank you.

So far, no new second test requirement. Unless that is the second shoe to drop, this is very good news!!

Every morning for the past 3 months, we estimate our chances of getting to SXM for our last week of December long ago scheduled trip. Today's news puts our new estimate in at 80%. Not very scientific, but feeling a lot more confident than 24 hours ago. But lots of things can still happen between now and then.

So now it’s test within 120 hours instead of results within 72 hours? That makes it a little easier to get in the window as long as you can get results in time, rather than guessing when you needed to take the test to not get the results too early or too late.

Well it's test AND results within 5 days vs. three....they didn't add the results part but it's kinda assumed. No point in having a test without results.....

And I wonder how many will still be tested at the airport? Big moneymaker for someone, probably the government.

Well, that is a welcome improvement. They are obviously hearing about and understanding the issues with the current protocols. The 120-hour test requirement is a big improvement over the 72-hour. It's getting into the range here in Ontario where tests can be done and the results received back in time for departure.

Also, for Canadians, Canada is currently on the moderate-risk list, at least for now. That could always change, if we get a resurgence in cases from something like a second wave. But for the moment it means we only need 8-days of monitoring and reporting when we arrive on the island. Good news, but obviously that also could change.

Is the daily temp a French requirement also? Assuming the border opens Oct. 1st, will we be required to do the daily temp if staying on the French side?

The daily temp reports are really not a bother IF you go on line every day and check your email. They send you a email every morning with a brief form that takes about a minute to fill in.
If you do not have email access I don't know what the process is.

Bob,

I tried to send you a PM regarding your return to SXM but I’m guessing you don’t accept them. Or else I did it wrong.......

I am so very glad to see you back on the island and on TTOL. We - all four of us - shared some laughter over the years and I know Dot would be happy for you and proud of you.

Enjoy your stay as best you can and remember all the good friends, the happy times and the wonderful memories. This really is a great group of caring people and we’re all pulling for you.

That all depends on what they decide if and when they open.
