Interesting, they think they have to 'remind' people that you shouldn't park on the sidewalk. Gee, I wonder if they are going to erect those parking bollards, that prevent people from parking on the sidewalk? thinks

I was always under the impression that the merchants were the biggest offenders.

Don't know, could be. Regardless, it needs to stop.

Another "feel good" talking point that will do nothing.

Wow, I think signs, no matter what they say, are just a suggestion. Non enforcement is crazy. In Maho, sidewalk parking is the new norm.

Signage could be a deterrent especially if even only random ticketing happens. Word might get out to some regular offenders.

Parking fines tripled in many areas through high season. Link

Why just for High season? Should be permanent.

We all know what they shudda’, cudda’, wudda’ but the big question is...... will they?

And from another totally different perspective........last week I had occasion to try to navigate Front Street with walking issues and using a cane. The condition of that street is horrendous. Between sinking pavers, unmarked obstacles, areas of no sidewalks and areas of sloping sidewalks, to mention but a few of the obstacles, the disabled citizenry of the island have my deepest sympathies and the illegally parked cars just make the situation worse.

I sincerely hope they crack down and clean up at least this one mess which should be relatively easy to do if there’s truly a will to do so.

I think in one of the articles that I was reading, they were talking about instituting a "boot" system, which that really gets someone's attention!!

I was told by by a Front Street merchant that they started towing on Wednesday. I was in town on Thursday and saw no evidence of that.
