Spain - At Last We Return!

We are leaving tomorrow for a ten day trip to Spain. Definitely a destination and vacation that is long overdue for us.

My wife and I will be returning to the city where we were foreign exchange students many moons ago. Located a few hours NW of Madrid is the city of Salamanca, which is where we will spend the majority of our time. The University of Salamanca is the third oldest school still in operation today, and dates back to 1200. Columbus had to convince scholars and geographers at the university that there was land across the ocean before the crown would fund his journey.

This vacation will take us down memory lane, but I hope to capture the beauty of Salamanca in photos and descriptions in the blog. Of course there will be a few memory lane off ramps

The least fun day of any vacation



We are headed to the land of Jamón Ibérico and Serrano and are pretty pumped... if we can get through today.

Hope the flight was delayed too much!! Looking forward to hearing about it!!

The day of the Walking Dead - Part II is up. I do not think I have slept harder in my life. I only awoke once to my wife opening a protein bar at midnight... she was hungry and it was dinner time in the land of Eastern Standard Time.

No thank you Carol for reading and following along. The weather has been perfect for picture taking. However, it is very chilly. Not slowing us down because we are having so much fun!

With the bright sunshine, it doesn't look chilly! Me being from Florida now, chilly doesn't attract!! But keep taking us along!

Day 7 – Step by Step - Question by Question we trace memories of 1972, visit another church, and enjoy more Food and Wine of Spain. Once again thanks for following along.

Today we headed off to the mountains to the small village of La Alberca. Still following the journal as our guide we have a chance meeting with the past. Having dinner at 9:30 is now the norm, but requires late night walks. Join us as we walk the city at night.

Very true. I don’t want to spend traveling time on a keyboard, but want to keep my friends and family updated of our status.

Tom, your reports are always great.

You are so correct JP, but we enjoy capturing the moment and memories as we live them also. I have done it both ways and find the final product better if we wait, but the real time more fun.
My biggest problem is working on a 6 inch android pad when on travel. I find all sorts of mistakes when I see it on the big screen, but I hate hauling my big laptop.

More to come today... I hope

Our trip is coming to an end... But today we head off to Zamora on another adventure! The Plaza Mayor has been cleaned up so I made a movie! Just another wonderful day in Spain.
