We have a new 2015 Beneteau 41 three cabin two head coming into the fleet. "Metis" is available for charter starting in May. Dockside air and a real mainsail. We are running a special on it as well.

Looks very nice.

I wish, I wish, I wish you'd put a generator in her.

If you had I'd have a charter lined up on her now, instead of Flying Moose.

I'd much rather handle a 41-footer around a dock than a 49 footer!

Of course Moose has a bow thruster...

unless CYOA owns the boat, the generator would be up to the owner. we used Vince at Compression Tech, best on the island

Evan, I'm the best on island <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

We don't own the boat, all of our boats are managed for owners. This boat is not available from Beneteau in a three cabin version with a genset.

If it where to get a non-factory generator it would be done by the staff at CYOA.

Do you know Vince? Really nice guy from S.Africa. The installation on a 40' boat was a very difficult job.

I'm with Twanger, A/C, at least shoreside is a deal breaker for us.

Rita,
This boat has dockside air conditioning. Beneteau doesn't offer this boat with a generator in a three cabin layout.

Hi Jay, it is usually only one or sometimes two couples, so a three cabin is not the best choice for us. My perfect charter boat is a 40-46 mono with in mast furling sail and gen/AC. Several years ago BVIYC had such a boat, a 46 Beneteau called Alegria Del Mar. 2 cabin 2 heads, great boat for 4 people. Almost cried when they sold it and moved us to a different boat.

Rita - I feel the same way, however I'd probably reduce the boat size to 36-40 feet when double handing, or going with 2 couples.

In the USVI/BVI the sailing is pretty tame and a long/large boat is not quite as critical to me. Small and maneuverable is nice, and Gen/AC is a must.

Anything 40-feet and up has a headsail that is so big that Barb can't sheet it all the way in. This is no huge deal... usually she brings it over and most of the way in, and then I pop the auto-pilot on and crank it the rest of the way in.
