Couples San Souci - 11/10/2017 03:39 PM

We just booked the middle two weeks in March. Can any one tell us which building the Penthouse suites are in and where on the resort that is located ? Thank You <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/circle.gif" alt="" />

I believe most are in D. If you go on their website you can co pair categories and it tells you what buildings they are in. D is right in the middle of the resort. 2 flights up from the main beach.

Are there lots of steps involved at CSS?

Yes, lots of steps. Just got back last night and had 83 steps to our penthouse D21

That's the single reason why we've never stayed there, and doubt I would ever go there. I have bad knees.

Yes a lot plus they are made out of natural stone so they are irregular. They will shuttle you around if you need. If stairs aren't your thing then you really should look at it really close. Some people stay in A,B or C buildings and stay down on the flat section. Both beaches, two pools and two restaurants are down there as well.

<img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/circle.gif" alt="" />We'll be there 3/11/2018 to 3/24/2018 ! Our first visit after 28 years of going to Club O. Anyone else going to be there at that time ?

We will be making our first trip to CSS in February. You've been going to Club O two years longer than us!
It sounds like you probably booked a Penthouse Suite, We went with a Beachfront Suite.
Have a wonderful trip!!

We have been to Club o 15 times...and have been to jamaica 22 times. We just got back from our third trip to CSS and are booked to return in April...in place of going to CLub orient.

We always stay in building A...it is the closest building to sunset beach...and it has been remodeled.

I had a knee replacement two years ago...and my other knee is not great...but we walk up the steps every night to go to the martini bar or the balloon bar or to Casanova to eat.

Yes...it is a lot of steps....but they are completely doable. Take your time...and there are places to rest along the way if you need to.

CLimbing the steps gives you opportunity to see some of the most magnificent sights of the resort.I would not miss those for the world!

You can also walk up the roadway or you can call the front desk and they will have a car come and drive you up to the lobby. They are very accommodating.

And further to what BeaNJoe have said, there are 120 steps from room G11 down to the Palazzina restaurant for breakfast, 120 back up after to get beach supplies, 120 back down to the beach, 120 back up to the room at the end of the day to freshen up, 120 down for dinner, and finally 120 back up to G11. That is a total of 720 steps on the average day. Your mileage may vary. Our stay there this past November was our first at CSS, and we loved it. As CathyG said, climbing the steps gives you the opportunity to stop and smell the "roses". Have fun.

Does anyone know if there are any snorkeling locations at CSS that are au naturel?

I have not yet visited CSS, our first trip will be next month. I have read of people snorkeling from Sunset Beach and have also read and saw a picture that the entrance to the water is rocky and many recommend wearing water shoes to enter the water.

I have always brought a mask and snorkel with me. I go off off sunset beach. There isn't a lot to see. Fish, coral, rocks. You can make your way over to the right and the jungle meets the water and it is ok. The excursions that are provided by the resort are fun. One goes to a shipwreck but your butt won't be getting sun.

Ok Thanks for the info. I'll just bring my mask and see what happens.
